Making a peanut pearl bracelet will only take a half an hour to an hour, depending on how complex your design is. Creating a peanut pearl bracelet is a very simple beginner's project that yields great results, and these make great make your own party favors.
Divide the peanut pearls into small bowls and set a bowl at each child's place. Also distribute a length of stretchy cord (be generous), a plastic needle, and a clothespin to each child. Thread each needle with a length of cord, bring the edges even and knot them, and pinch the knot with a clothespin to provide a little weight on the end of the thread so it stays put on the table.
Let each child lay out a pattern. For younger children, have legal sized sheets of paper with circles drawn to indicate pearls in a line, and let them place pearls on the circles until they are happy with the pattern they have created.
Next, help them thread their pearls in the desired pattern until all the pearls are done. It's OK if the strand is longer than needed to go around their wrist. When all the pearls are threaded, hold the needle in one hand and the clothespin in the other and rotate the pin so that the double strand is twisted inside the pearls. Cut the ends of the strands free.
Wrap the bracelet around the child's wrist, and pull just on one of the pearl strands until the pearls bunch up on the other strand and the first strand is snug around the child`s wrist. Make a black mark on both sides to show where the string meets around the wrist.
Push the pearls back on the one strand until you see the marks, and run the ends through a crimp from opposite directions so the marks are inside the crimp. Tighten it. The longer strand should be spiraled around the shorter one, causing the pearls to bunch a little. Trim the ends, bring them through a second crimp and tighten. Now each child has a party favor to treasure!
