Pearl Settings can compliment even inexpensive pearls. If you are trying to select a pearl setting it is really an individual style. If the beauty appeals to you then you should be confident that it will match with your pearl. There are many selections of gold and silver and base metal settings. If you are unsure then do talk to the jeweller when you decide to mount your pearls. If you want to try mounting the pearl yourself, the process is not that hard:
You can also find information on mounting pearls online through tutorials and videos.

There are a few different pearl settings. The first is the Peg Setting which is the most common type of setting used by jewellers. Here the pearl is drilled halfway through and then a metal bar gets inserted and secured with glue. The prong setting is when the jeweller clamps small narrow prongs emerging from the base of the setting. This holds it in place. The Bezel Setting is used when working with diamonds. Here the pearl is submerged partially of completely flush in a precious metal that encircles the sides of the pearl. Next is the Invisible Setting. This was invented 200 years ago in France. It gives the illusion of larger gems because the setting can't be seen. Grooves get etched into the sides of the pearls and fit into a framework on the mounting underneath. The next setting is the Channel Setting that mounts many pearls into a metal channel with no metal between the rows.
If you are looking for pearl settings you can get them all from us. We can order or make them for you. If the pearl you have is expensive you will want to check out professionals rather than trying to mount it yourself. If you have looked and not found what you like then you can look for a jewelery artisan. We can create a one of a kind mounting for you. There are several pieces you will need to create your pearl settings. Many designers choose to use Cubic Zirconia or zirconium oxide as a diamond substitute. Of course other pearl settings can include emeralds, rubies, opals, aquamarine, blue tourmaline, chrome diopside, coral, agate, onyx, jasper, bloodstone and much more.
