What is a seashell pearl?
Seashell pearls also called Majorca pearls refers to simulate pearls that look like South Sea pe arls, but they are man-made rather than pearls naturally created from oysters as with the majority of our freshwater pearls. The process can vary but generally follows the same aspect as the natural pearl.
Simulated pearls are available in shell, glass, and plastic-based. The best ones are made with a shell which is a mother-of-pearl base, similar to the oyster process, but they also have multi color hues which is the only type that we are selling here at Oriental Pearls.net.

What is a shell pearl?
The process of making a shell pearl involves several stages. The raw material for the base of the pearl is the seashell, which is coated and polished to the final shape of the pearl. In order to produce a good quality pearl, a key ingredient is a `mother-of pearl-bead.’ This element adds weight, value, and durability to the pearl. In fact, the materials used in order to make shell pearls are the same materials from which cultured pearls are made. 
Shell pearl is a better choice for many reasons. The range of prices vary and some shell pearls are expensive as a result of their stellar quality, but comparatively speaking, shell pearls are much easier and cheaper to buy. The second reason is the quality of South Sea shell pearl. Because the process is man-made rather than naturally produced, it can be perfectly round and have perfect luster while the rarity of the cultural pearl not only makes it expensive, but also makes it hard to find in the perfect shape and size. The manual production of the shell pearl enables the manufacturer to determine the shape, size, and color of the pearl to make it appear perfect as possible.
Although these seashell pearls are not real pearls from oysters, they are in high demand by large numbers of consumers for its stunning similarity to that of the most expensive fine pearls - South Sea pearls not only they have the same heavy weight as real pearls, but also they look and feel just like real pearls.
Our South Sea shell pearls are made of top quality material, and pass through the strict inspection and quality control during manufacturing, made by highly trained and skilled workers. Because the quality of the man-made pearl is greatly determined by the quality of the seashell from which it`s made. Our seashell, however, is collected new and fresh in terms of age, and it is being processed as soon as it gets the factory. For South Sea shell pearls, a substance usually made of pulverized mother-of-pearl is applied to the base, allowed to dry, drilled, and then sold. The more hemage, the more expensive the simulated pearl. Majorca Pearls fall into the shell based category. Each layer, is applied by dipping the base into fish scales and oils, allowing it to dry, polishing it by hand to remove bumps and blemishes, and repeating the process to build up the density and uniformity in color.
The modern technology of pearl production can also assure its durability. The shell pearl will always keep its shine and color, and will not be affected by sweat, perfume, or detergents. The pearl in its marketing form is a result of a long process of shaping, coating, and intensive quality control inspection. Another reason for purchasing this product is the variety of shapes and colors. This means that the customer is able to choose among a variety of different colored pearls. This also means the manufacturer is able to offer a whole new world of colors and shapes, which are not found in cultured pearls.
