These are 8mm AAAA graded southsea shell (also called majorica pearls) pearls which are perfect round shape with very high luster to rival southsea or akoya pearls.
The half-drilled southsea shell pearls are often used to make rings, earrings and pendants. You can also choose the jewelry accessories from our Pearl Clasp Findings department to create your own pearl gifts. The hole is drilled approximately 1mm in size.
9 colors of pearls are available for immediate delivery: white, peacock black, gold, champagne, grey, peacock green, chocolate, Tahitian black, and pale pink.
Price listed is for one pearl only.
For a limited time, we also have AAA graded pearls available, as the last picture shows, also half drilled with larger 1mm holes. These are the same high luster and same round shaped pearls except there might be very unnoticeable markings that can be seen only under magnifying lenses. They are the best value for your money. Only white colored available.
What is a South Sea Shell Pearl?
Shell pearls, which are marketed under many brand names, are a pearling industry term for simulated, or replica pearls made from mother of pearl. In the case of our South Sea Shell pearls, they’re shell pearls specifically made to simulate South Seas cultured pearls. Shell pearls are made in a factory rather than grown inside an oyster or mussel. They’re considered to be the best quality replicas you can get because they are made from shell, not plastic or glass.
